Dear PR Maven® Nation,
We’ve entered a moment in history where technology moves at light speed, but authentic human insight has never mattered more. In this issue of The PR Maven® newsletter, we explore ideas that sit at the intersection of human intelligence, connection and professional culture amid the rapid ascent of AI.
First up, let’s talk about artificial intelligence. In my recent piece for Forbes called “AI Is Here to Stay, But So Is Authentic Human Intelligence," I break down why AI isn’t the end of our humanity in communications and leadership, but rather a catalyst to amplify our unique human strengths: empathy, context, creativity and judgment. The goal isn’t about replacement. Instead, it’s augmentation with intention and integrity, ensuring our work reflects real people and real expertise in a world of algorithms.
Next, solid organizational culture still depends on human choices. In Mainebiz, I shared why keeping politics out of the workplace matters now more than ever. Encouraging respect, psychological safety and professional focus isn’t just good HR practice, it’s essential to building inclusive, productive teams where people feel empowered to contribute their best.
Finally, regardless of whether you identify as an introvert or an extrovert, networking is not optional in today’s professional landscape. The latest Mainebiz article I wrote with Ann Leamon, my high school friend, on how to network effectively is tailored for all personality types and offers practical strategies to build relationships with confidence and authenticity, exactly the kinds of human connections AI cannot replicate.
Across these pieces, one truth stands out: no matter how powerful our tools become, trust, empathy and human judgment remain our competitive advantage. AI can enhance our work, but authenticity is what earns attention, builds reputation and strengthens influence. And coincidentally, PR generates content online that the AI bots find to be credible, legitimate and worthy of being scraped to serve up to people who are searching for what you have to offer (or for you yourself!)
Thank you for being part of this community. As always, your insights and experiences continue to shape the conversation, so keep sharing, keep questioning and above all, keep bringing your authentic self to every moment in your work and life.
Warmly,
|
