Make a BIG IMPACT with
a SMALL GIFT to YES at Pickleman's this Month

For the second year, YES is Partnering with Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe the month of November to help raise money for homeless youth in our community!

Beginning TODAY through the end of the month, patrons have the opportunity to donate $1 with each order. Despite the pandemic, this month-long event raised more than $4,300 in 2020.

"Pickleman's is excited to once again support Youth Emergency Services; we believe in the work they do and the impact they make in the community to help young people," said Alex Harrington, owner of the Omaha-area stores. "We hope the Omaha community will come out in big numbers to help us help homeless youth."

Did you know YES served more than 1,000 youth in in the 2020-21 fiscal year -- some of them runaways?

Youth leave home and live with friends or on the streets due to a variety of reasons: bad home life, abuse at home, lack of parental acceptance due to sexual preference...as well as many others.

We encourage you to Wear Green this month to help us recognize the need to support Homeless and Runaway Youth in Metro Omaha and everywhere!

Thank You for Making
2021 Dance for a Chance
a Tremendous Success!

After months of practicing and fundraising -- and a year delay due to the pandemic -- YES' 2021 Dance for a Chance: The Roaring Twenty-Twenties was a tremendous success!

Presented by Lindsay Corporation, the annual fundraising event -- YES' biggest of the year -- was Thursday, October 7, once again at the Omaha Design Center.

Dance for a Chance features a mix of community and business leaders who are learning a dance while also raising money to provide services and resources for homeless and near-homeless youth in our community.

This year's event raised more than $109,000 BECAUSE OF YOUR GENEROSITY! We can't THANK YOU ENOUGH for helping us exceed our post-pandemic goal.

Congratulations to Xavier Carr of Lasik Plus and his partner Leigh Chaves for getting the highest marks from our judging panel to win Best Dance Performance.

And MANY THANKS to Katie Kuhl of Medical Solutions for getting the MOST VOTES and RAISING THE MOST MONEY, well over $30,000 to be our Fundraising Champion.

Similar to Dancing with the Stars, Dance for a Chance pairs up dancers with instructors, who then work together over a series of weeks to create a dance, pick accompanying music and practice before competing in October.

At the same time, the dancers are working within their personal and professional networks – largely via social media – to raise awareness and money for Youth Emergency Services.

Suffice it to say, this fundraiser is UNLIKE ANY OTHER each year in the community -- and everyone has a GREAT TIME DOING IT!

"We are so grateful to everyone who supported Dance for a Chance this year, particularly our dancers and instructors for the tremendous amount of time and effort they gave to raise so much money and perform at such a high level," said Barb Farho, YES Director of Development.

"We also thank all of our sponsors, silent auction donors, volunteers, staff -- everyone who helped make this year's event such a tremendous success. We have already started planning next year's event!"

Lindsay Corporation returned as this year’s Presenting Sponsor, after several years as a YES Champion level sponsor. Medical Solutions was a first-time sponsor at the YES Champion level. Midwest Medical Transport was a first-time sponsor as the Speakeasy Sponsor, and
Lund-Ross Constructors was this year's Virtual Telecast sponsor.

Check out PHOTOS from the evening on our Facebook Event Page! Thank you to Debra Kaplan for taking such wonderful photos!

Watch YES communications in the coming months for the date of next year's Dance for a Chance! We look forward to seeing you!

On the heels of a very challenging 2020,
there's little doubt that we've all continued
to maneuver obstacles in 2021.

Nonprofits like Youth Emergency Services continue to feel its impact -- as do our young people.

Giving Tuesday is Nov. 30, and WE NEED YOUR HELP to REACH OUR $25,000 GOAL to continue providing services to hundreds of homeless youth in Metro Omaha!

We realize we've asked a lot of you this year already -- but we KNOW we can continue to COUNT ON YOU as we have in the past.

Please consider making a gift to help us reach our goal so we can continue to serve hundreds of homeless and near-homeless youth.

THANK YOU!
