Dear Friend,

Brookline has experienced a dramatic increase in families seeking emergency housing assistance while the state’s emergency shelter system is at capacity. Brookline Community Development Corporation is working diligently to ensure that the most vulnerable have a safe place to live during this unprecedented time of need. We know that with the changed political climate, we will not be able to look to the federal government for much support.

We cannot meet the community’s needs without your support. We are proud of our recent work to provide rental assistance to over 50 families on the verge of homelessness, offer first-time homebuyer classes to moderate-income residents, evaluate three potential development sites, make improvements, and decarbonize our existing properties.

Our mission to create successful partnerships and programs to improve access to decent, safe affordable housing for Brookline’s residents is a 24/7 undertaking and we need your help to serve Brookline.

Would you please consider making a donation to help us help unhoused residents, decarbonize our properties, or help people achieve their homeownership goals? A gift of greater than $1,000 is eligible for the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC), a fifty percent (50%) tax credit against Commonwealth of Massachusetts liability.

Your support today is vital to our future. Please take a moment to contribute right now.

Sincerely,

Deborah Brown

What is the Community Investment Tax Credit Program (CITC)?

The Community Investment Tax Credit program is designed to inspire giving to community development corporations. Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) donations provide you with a 50% tax credit through the State of Massachusetts, even if you do not owe any income taxes. That means that you or your company can make a $1,000 impact on BCDC while only spending $500! A minimum $1,000 donation is required in order to receive the tax credit. Learn More about CITC
