Greetings!

We hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and found many things to be thankful for even in the midst of a pandemic. This has been no doubt a very tough year for all of us. More than 280,000 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported just in this country. Millions of people have been infected and many have been hospitalized. And the numbers are continuing to rise and are expected to get a lot worse in the next few months. Our economy has lost about 10 million jobs since the pandemic started. As a result, many families we serve are in dire financial situations. They are having difficulty making their ends meet. They urgently need help to pay for their rent and food.

As an organization who serves many underserved communities, we witness firsthand the needs of these families. Thanks to the support from you and other generous donors, we were able to help many families like the Pereira family. They were on the verge of losing their homes as Merlin and her family struggled to find permanent housing in the months prior to the emergence of Covid-19. With the assistance from our Homelessness Prevention Case Manager and financial resources provided, Merlin and her family managed to sign a lease. While the pandemic has negatively impacted our lives in many ways, it has brought us something positive that we cherish. It is the increased compassion that we have for our fellow men as there are so many people suffering around us.
