The Illinois Secretary of State and Illinois State Library have made available a free, state-wide e-resource package for all libraries! Available through EBSCO Information Services, you now have access to 55 databases covering topics from car repair to legal resources, from health information to peer reviewed articles for academic research, from home improvement information to study materials for college entrance exams, and more!

Stephen King the Shining

The Spinetinglers Horror Book Club


The Spinetinglers Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of each month for discussion of a different horror book. If you're a fan of ghosts, vampires, or other spooks and ghouls, this book club is for you!


It's the coldest time of the year, so for this month we're reading Stephen King's classic horror novel The Shining.

Whoo wants to learn about owls with image of an owl

Great Horned Owls: Hiding in Plain Sight

Mark H.X. Glenshaw is an award-winning naturalist who has closely observed and documented the lives of Great Horned Owls in Forest Park, a large urban park in St. Louis, Missouri, since December 2005. Mark’s talk will cover how he found these owls, basic facts about the species, and uses many of his photos and videos to illustrate the amazing behaviors of these beautiful birds.

Board game night at Buzz Bomb Brewing Co 1st Thursday of the month

Join us at Buzz Bomb Brewing Co. for a downtown Springfield night of beer and board games!


We'll have a wide-ranging collection of board games to choose from, from old classics to modern euro games! If you want to try out a new game, we can help teach the rules. Join up with other attendees or come with your own group of players. Borrow one of our games, or bring your own if you have a favorite!

Holiday Lights Recycling

The City of Springfield has partnered with BLH Computers to offer FREE recycling for broken or unused holiday lights. The drop-off box is located in the Lincoln Library lobby and will be available through January 2, 2025.

Lincoln Library will be closed December 24th and 25th and closing at 5pm Dec 31st and closed Jan 1 2025
