This exhibition runs through June 2, 2024. Tickets to Galileo range in price from $5 - $8 per person, in addition to general museum admission for non-members.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day | FREE Admission!

With kids out of school for the day, explore the Institute of Science for FREE on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. During your visit, make sure to stop by by the Acheson Planetarium and catch one of our many programs, including:

  • Two Small Pieces of Glass (only here for a limited time!)
  • Michigan Sky Tonight

  • The Institute will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 27 for the Kids Kicking Cancer overnight event.
  • The exploreLAB is now open on select Saturdays, Sundays, and school breaks. Visit our website for more details. 
  • Register for Free First Friday (Jan. 5), courtesy of MASCO. Walk-ups are welcome, however registration is encouraged, and due to capacity limits, entrance is not guaranteed. Registration is available for 10:00am - 4:00pm or 5:00 - 10:00pm. 
  • Register for Free Third Thursday (Jan. 18), courtesy of the Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan, and enjoy the museum for FREE between 5:00 - 8:00pm. You can also visit the Cranbrook Art Museum for FREE from 11:00am - 8:00pm.
