Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The month of May is a very exciting time in the year for several reasons. Kids are getting ready for summer vacation, Mother's day takes place during this month, and our favorite: May happens to be the National Home Improvement Month. To celebrate National Home Improvement Month, here are a few fun facts about what's going on in the remodeling sector.

In a survey released by LightStream, 42% of homeowners plan on spending $5,000 or more on home improvements, and 23% plan to spend at least $10,000. Outdoor home renovations such as decks, patios, or landscapes continue to be the most popular planned projects this year at 41%. Home repairs & technology, bathroom, and kitchen remodels round out the top four planned projects. Pool installations this year experienced a 40% increase since 2016 - it seems like a lot of people are preparing for the pool parties this year.

So why is May National Home Improvement Month? It makes sense considering that summer is just around the corner, and people will be hosting parties and gatherings. If you or anyone that you know is planning to host some awesome parties this summer, let us know if we can help with summer projects this year and make this summer one to remember!

6 Spring Home Projects You Can Start Today!

Interior Paint: Refresh a room with a new coat of paint. Invest in a high-quality primer to ensure a long-lasting paint job.

Exterior Paint: Put your home's best face forward this season with a fresh new paint job! A simple touch-up can prolong the life of your siding and trim.

Deck Dreams: Planning a new or redesigned deck begins with imagining everything you want the space to be. Professional designers can offer fresh ideas and anticipate code restrictions.

Carpet Cleaning: Give your carpets a deep quality clean at least once a year to eliminate food particle buildup. Hire a professional, rent a carpet cleaner, or buy a professional-style model.

Pool Maintenance: Before pool season officially starts, you have to clean your cover, remove the antifreeze chemicals, refill the water to an appropriate level, and add the first dose of chemicals.

Power Wash Windows: Not only will this make your home look sharp, but it will also prevent growth of mold and mildew. Hire a pro if you are not sure if your home's exterior can handle the water pressure from cleaning.
