Thanks for coming to the Garden Party!

Between the delicious food, plant and seed vendors, live music, photo booth, stylish dogs, and costume contest, we had a blast - and we hope you did too!

Did you make it into our photo album?
To see all the photos and costumes from the event, check out our  Facebook album ( and feel free to tag yourself!)

We're especially grateful to all of our partners who came out to provide expert advice, creative activities, and enjoyable entertainment, and helped make the event such a success. And, as ever, we're so thankful of our Forklift Fans who brought family and friends to celebrate spring and support the mission of reuse!
If you missed the party, don't worry...
we've still got
garden supplies!

Each year we collect garden supplies for the annual fundraiser, and this year our donors were so generous that we actually had a nice amount left after the party ended. Visit us soon to browse through the remaining garden goodies, including these large self-watering planters, lawnmowers, hoses and attachments, and more!

Beat the rush!
Schedule your pickup now.

Have you started spring cleaning or planning a summer renovation? Do you have a lot of usable items that you just don't need any more?

Help them find new life at the 'Lift!
By donating to Community Forklift, you can qualify for a tax deduction, reduce disposal costs, keep items out of the landfill, create jobs, and lift up local communities. We accept donations of most new and salvaged building & landscaping materials, appliances, and tools, as well as antique and vintage housewares. We also accept some furniture and commercial materials on a case-by-case basis.

For certain large donations,
you can even schedule a free pickup at home.
To request a pick up, please review our Donations Guidelines
and fill out our online form.
It's currently a slow time for our pickup team,
so beat the late-spring rush and get your requests in now!
And while you're at it: if your friends and neighbors are cleaning or renovating, remind them that we can help them too.

Although we can't schedule pick ups by email, if you have a specific question, the quickest way to reach our Donations Team is by emailing (if necessary, you can also call our Donations Coordinator at 301-985-5180 ext. 202).

The Donations team is in the office Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. We are not able to respond to phone calls, texts, emails, and online forms outside of these hours.

Community Forklift is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. Donations are tax-deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.

We are looking for able-bodied volunteers to assist with donation pickups and small deconstruction projects. Donation pickups involve loading salvaged materials and bulky items onto our trucks, sometimes in less than optimal conditions. Deconstruction projects may involve use hammers, pry bars, power drills, sawzalls (depending on experience) for the removal of interior trim, flooring, doors, cabinets, and other nonstructural items.

A strong back, ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly, steel toed boots, and a sunny disposition are required. Construction experience for deconstruction tasks is preferred.
