Spreading joy and building community through dance, music, and song for 100 years
Make this summer a celebration of traditional dance, music, and song!

Ah, summer! Time to embrace relaxation, focus on rejuvenation, and get reacquainted with the authentic YOU. It's also the perfect time to reflect on the ways our lives are made sweeter by raising our voices in song, making music with others, and connecting with friends old and new on the dance floor. And there's no better place to do just that than at camp!

Whether your passion is dancing contras or English country, singing and exchanging folk ballads and rousing pub songs, or jamming on traditional tunes, we have an invigorating intergenerational camp experience waiting for you within a (relatively) short drive from home:

Nestled in the hills of West Virginia Adult & Family Week at Timber Ridge is a unique combination of adult and family camp. It's a magical place were parents, grandparents, singles, couples, young adults, teenagers, and young children all come together in a joyous mix of dance and song. Add art, swimming, storytelling, canoeing, friends, and late-night snacks, and we have a wonderful, memorable good time.

The week features two callers known for their joyful, spirited dancing and dance leadership - Scott Higgs from Philadelphia and Adina Gordon from Burlington, VT. Both are experts at calling American contra dances and English country dances, and we look forward to a wonderful mix of dances every day. Our roster of amazing musicians includes Andrew and Noah Van Norstrand, Eden MacAdam-Somer, Rachel Bell, Dave Wiesler, John Devine, Sam Bartlett, and Josh Burdick.

During mornings at camp, there's lots of dancing and classes for ages 2 and up. Twice daily, there are gatherings where stories, songs, talents, and much laughter are shared. And there's also time during the day for nature walks, swimming, canoeing, and hanging out with friends. Adults and teenagers enjoy marvelous evening dances and fabulous after-dance activities - dance parties, pub singing, cabaret, and more. The last full day of camp is show and tell time, and we celebrate our wonderful week together with a big parade, a pool party, and dancing, dancing, dancing.

It all adds up to a wonderful week of connecting with traditions and rituals, with a culture of participation and involvement that's truly contagious. Come join in the fun!
