Makeover Monday - Granny to Great

MAKEOVER MONDAY

This week I am featuring my 'Staging/Investor Consultation' service. This investor regularly brings me in to give his properties an edge over the basic 'repaint the walls and change the flooring' look. To get the best price, updating a home to current design trends always attracts more Buyers.

BEFORE...

Just by looking at the furnishings in the room you can probably estimate the age of the homeowners. The window treatments are a big 'time stamp' as well.

AFTER...

Removing the carpet and replacing it with lighter wood look LVP (luxury viny planks) made the place more appealing to Buyers, many of whom now prefer hard flooring options. Adding the dark accent trim all the way to the ceiling really gives the fireplace a different and high end look.

BEFORE

The orangey cabinets with white appliances is not yet back on the wishlist of most Buyers. What goes around comes around, you never know, it might come back!

AFTER...

Even though the cabinets are painted dark, it still feels light overall because of the light blacksplash and quartz countertops. The white appliance fit in well with the overall dark & white theme. Eliminating the soffet over the penninsula and adding the pendants brings in some 'bling' to the space.

BEFORE...

The furnishings and ruffle valance are taking center stage here.

AFTER...

Again it's out with the carpet and orangey oak. The new neutral backdrop will work well for all kinds of furnishings.

All these changes made for a faster sale and higher sale price
