MAKEOVER MONDAY

This week I am showcasing Paint Accents.

Anybody that knows me, knows that I am a fan of accent walls. It's an easy way to accentuate and bring some interest to larger areas as well as small spaces. Painting a simple shape on a wall is a smaller version of that but can have just as much impact. It's a quick process that makes a big difference. If you would like help with a big impact project like this, let me know.

Please forward this to anyone who needs help visualizing changes

inside or outside their home.

I'D LOVE TO WORK WITH YOU!

THEtH

BEFORE...

This is a teenagers bedroom who loved pink. Her mom just wanted to make a few changes to elevate the space a little. My first suggestion was to flip the room and put the bed on the wall that faces the door. Headboards can add a lot to the look of a bedroom but the space was very narrow at the end of the bed and they didn't want to lose, what can be, precious inches. I suggested painting a headboard on the wall. Arches are very popular right now and they loved the idea. We picked out a color of pink color that coordinates with her new bedding.

AFTER...

I showed them a mockup of what it would look like along with a few accessories. With them on board, I was able to come back a week later and paint the arch. A little paint can make a big difference.

Here are some other ideas where you can use some paint accents...

The end of a hall is often a good place to add interest.

A curve shape over a long built-in or bar adds a unique back drop for shelving or pictures.

Color blocking can visually define a space when there are no walls.

I plan to doing something like this over my own bed.

It's a great visual for an entry.

Color in the corner brings attention to an often forgotten space.

Hopefully you can use some of these tricks to

make your home more appealing to yourself or to Buyers.
