MAKEOVER MONDAY

Although shirtwaist style homes originated in Kansas City, you won't find many like this in Johnson County. This one catches your eye, but not just for it's architectural style.

Any pink house will stand out but this large shirtwaist home really catches your eye with it's non-traditional color.

OPTION 1 - 3 different body colors

In addition to the 3 different tones of muddy blue, this rendition has a piece of painted horizontal trim just below the 3rd floor window. It also divides lighter paint color on the peak of the home. The addition of the shutters also makes the windows look larger.

OPTION 2 - 1 body color

This version used just one color on the body but adds some interest with medium tone wood shutters to balance the brick.

OPTION 3 - 1 body color, with painted brick

Painting the brick wasn't really an option in this case but showing it painted the trim color helps to visualize how much of a change it can make. This is using more of a white wash so that the variation of brick colors shows through.
