Measure "V" 16 & 12 Building Classrooms at CHS
We are excited to report that our 16 classroom modular building, referred to as building (A2) in the Measure "V" project is set to break ground in December of 2019. The expected student and staff occupancy date for the 16 classroom building is August of 2020. We thank the community of Calexico for these new facilities, as they are possible through the passing of the Measure "V" Bond. Following the completion of building (A2), construction will continue to building (A3), a 12 classroom modular building. Personnel Commission
The Personnel Commission would like to acknowledge Gerardo Izaguirre for being the Classified Employee of the Month for October, 2019.

Gerardo works as a Custodian for the district.  He started working as a substitute back in August of 2016 and almost a year after he was selected to fill a part-time Custodial position.  Gerardo then applied for a full time Custodial position that became available and was selected to work in a split position between Cesar Chavez and Jefferson Elementary Schools.  Although Gerardo went to SDSU and earned a degree in Social Science, he reports enjoying working in his current assignment because he likes helping others in any way he can as well as being able to keep him active.
Gerardo takes pride in having the school and classrooms look clean, proper and ready for students and staff. He said it brings him great joy to do things for others because it makes him feel part of a wonderful work family.

Congratulations Gerardo!
