"Through Lehman’s Basic Needs Center, this initiative provides crucial support to students facing food insecurity, helping to alleviate their challenges during the holiday season."

Former Social Work Chair Norma Phillips (Center), who worked tirelessly for decades on behalf of social work education at Lehman and in the Bronx, passed away on December 1. Brenda Williams-Gray and the Department of Social Work share that under her tutelage, the social work program expanded to a department, out of which the MSW program was developed.

"Norma served as the backbone for the legacy that we expand upon today; she was a fierce advocate, with a strong sense of purpose and a great sense of humor.”

Another Excellent Event

The Center for Teaching and Learning's annual pre-holiday excellence showcase was fun and informative, and offered an opportunity to help the community. It included the panel discussion Pathways to Student Success: A Celebration of Peer Support Excellence and also kicked off the Basic Needs Center food drive and the Office of Veterans and Military Affairs' toy drive.

Club Beat

Lehman's Modeling Club, in collaboration with The Afrobeats Dance Club, Caribbean Unity, Club Curls, The Lehman Dance Ensemble, The Meridian, and The Network for Stage & Screen Artists, hosted a 70’s disco themed party and the costumes were groovy!
