"Words have power and a new drowning prevention effort says that doing away with misleading terminology such as "water safe" and "waterproofing" in swimming and water safety programs is needed to save lives..."

"When I first started swimming, I loved being in the water.
When I joined a club program, I loved being a part of a team.
When I became a National Team member, I loved swimming for my country.
And when I became an Olympian, I loved hearing the national anthem."
Brendan Hansen

This December you will receive a special letter from six-time Olympic medalist and USA Swimming Foundation Board Member, Brendan Hansen. He shares a little of his story and invites you, the swimming family, to support the USA Swimming Foundation's mission to save lives and build champions, by making a gift this holiday season.

This year, the USA Swimming Foundation, with your support, provided more than $500,000 in direct athlete support, coaching incentives and team travel to the U.S. National Team, $120,000 to grassroots development programs, and more than $340,000 in grant funding for children to learn to swim through our Make a Splash initiative.

Your donation can help us do more!
