Avalon Dune Grass Planting
If you would like to volunteer to help plant dune grass on the beautiful beaches of Avalon, please join the Borough of Avalon for their annual Dune Grass Planting event on Sunday, October 25th. (Rain date will be October 26th). Each volunteer will be given all required tools and materials, plus a short training session prior to planting. Dune grass is vital to the local ecosystem as planting helps stabilize the dune system and creates a layer of resiliency for our beaches!

Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweep in
Avalon and Stone Harbor
Stone Harbor and Avalon are participating in the Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweep on Saturday, October 24th from 9-12:30. Please go to CleanOceanAction.org to register to help Stone Harbor and Avalon continue to keep our beaches clean!

Trick or Treat
in Avalon & Stone Harbor
TRICK or TREAT....in Stone Harbor and Avalon!
Join in the scary fun on Saturday, October 31st from 5-8pm. Please register your home with Stone Harbor or Avalon Boroughs by Monday, October 26th. Once your address is registered, a recreation staff member will deliver a wooden pumpkin to your home on or before October 30th. This pumpkin is to be displayed on your lawn, so children know your home is on the 'trick or treat route!
Maps are also available for pick up outside of the Rec Building on 82nd Street. COVID guidelines are to be followed.
