Stone Harbor and Avalon Celebrate 
Veterans Day

  
 
Veterans Day - November 11, 2019
Avalon will be holding a ceremony at 11am at Veterans Plaza (21st Street) to honor our veterans. The ceremony continues at 12 noon at the American Legion; Stephen C. Ludlam Post 331 in Stone Harbor with words from Mayor Dunhour-Davies. Afterward, please join Post 331 for an open house with light food and dessert!  Local "veteran" and Stone Harbor resident Frank D'Elia will also be honored - Frank turns 100 years old on D-Day! Frank was one of the brave men who landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day; and he fought in the Battle of the Bulge! 

Avalon Dredging Project Update
  
 
The major Avalon beach-fill project is in full swing!  Sand is being dredged from Townsends's Inlet and spread along the beach in North Avalon. 

Avalon Lions Club Donation
  
 
The Avalon Lions Club showed support at a local fundraiser for C.A.R.A (The Coalition Against Rape & Abuse) - a local organization that protects thousands of men, women and children who have or who are presently dealing with abuse; by donating $6,000.00. Thanks to donations to the fundraising events that happen during the year, the Lions support more than a dozen charities in Cape May County, with C.A.R.A being one of them.
