Waving Goodbye and Saying Hello
Throughout 2019, we welcomed new team members and advocates, said thank you to staff and board members who served us for many years, and celebrated our accomplishments and challenges together. We enjoyed seeing so many of you in December at our Holiday Hello and for those unable to make it, we look forward to having a chance to thank you in person soon for all of your hard work this last year. From the staff here at United Way of Northeast Georgia, we want you to know how excited we are to start 2020 with you.
Workplace Spotlight: Action, Inc.
We are grateful for our partners – both our workplace campaigns and nonprofits. Today we are excited to honor one of our outstanding partner agencies for their amazing staff’s contributions to the region. ACTION, Inc. helps individuals and families break the cycle of poverty and achieve their greatest potential, but this is not just a mission for their work. It is a mission their employees live by, evident in their service and contributions. This month we want to celebrate and highlight that ACTION, Inc. is a gold partner, which means that 100% of their staff contributed to their United Way of Northeast Georgia workplace campaign.

We are privileged to partner with ACTION, Inc., and are honored by their service to their community through time, talent, and contributions.
It's That Time of Year

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service
This recent Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, more than 300 volunteers kicked off their day of service at Clarke Central High School, hearing from Mayor Kelly Girtz and Krystle Cobran, Athens-Clarke County's Inclusion Officer, reminding volunteers that there is still important work to be done alongside one another. Families, student groups, churches, businesses, and individuals all worked alongside each other at 19 service sites across the city, clearing trails, sorting food and books, and even repainting parking lot lines.

United Way of Northeast Georgia was happy to serve alongside the MLK Day of Service event planners:  Leisure Services  •  Athens-Clarke County Stormwater  •  Athens Community Council on Aging  •  Athens Land Trust  •  Clarke County School District  •  Hull Firm, LLC  •  Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful  •  UGA Office of Service-Learning   United Way of Northeast Georgia
