Meaningful Service Projects for Families in Need

Last Sunday, JFS welcomed Chabad of Riverside and students from the Seaside Society youth group for a day of community building and service. The students learned about the mission and work of JFS, gaining a deeper understanding of how we serve the community.

The students assembled a welcome basket for a family arriving from Venezuela. Filled with essential items, the basket helped the family feel supported as they begin life in Connecticut. The students also painted colorful welcome signs to greet the family.

We are so grateful for their participation and dedication to making a difference. We are excited to continue these efforts in partnership with our community!

JFS Clients Empowered with CPR Training

Our clients recently took part in a hands-on CPR training, where they learned life-saving skills for handling emergencies like fainting, cardiac arrest, and administering CPR to both adults and children. The session gave everyone the confidence and knowledge to respond effectively in critical situations.

We’re proud to see our community more prepared and empowered to act when it matters most. A special thank you to Ann Hart from First Presbyterian Church for hosting, and to Pamela Rodriguez for leading the CPR training.

Temple Sinai Mitzvah Day: Spreading Joy and Connection

Recently, JFS participated in Temple Sinai’s Mitzvah Day, a special community event dedicated to acts of kindness and service. During the event, children and families worked together to package spice packs, which will be distributed to JFS families. These spice packs bring warmth and tradition to those in need, as they celebrate the upcoming holidays.

Mitzvah Day is a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to come together and make a positive impact, and JFS is grateful to be part of this tradition. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success!
