COVID-19 Hits Jamaica
The Corona Virus has hit Jamaica and we are doing everything we can to help Jamaica lessen their death rates. Issa Trust Foundation has donated two GE Engstrom Carestation Ventilators. One to the Western Regional Health Authority and the other to the Northeast Regional Health Authority. Eric Clarke, Chairman of the Western Region and Fabia Lamm, Regional Director of the Northeast Regional Health Authority accepted the donation for their regions.

As the COVID-19 spreads across the island there are continuing concerns among hospitals. Hospital intensive care units will be hard-pressed to handle a surge in seriously ill patients.

A key limiting factor to be able to provide the necessary care is the number of ventilation machines a hospital has on hand to help the most seriously ill patients breathe. The COVID-19, like many respiratory viruses, can cause inflammation in the lungs. When patients develop this type of viral pneumonia, they often require ventilators which can supply higher levels of oxygen and help push air into the lungs to open them up.

With your help, Issa Trust Foundation will continue to source supplies and equipment for Jamaica and make additional, critically needed, supplies and equipment available island wide.
