City of waterloo neighbourhoods: strong and connected.

Celebrate your kind neighbours!

Small acts of kindness make our neighbourhood stronger and remind us we are not alone.

Simple ways to spread kindness in your neighbourhood:

  • Share a smile or stop for a quick chat on your morning walk.
  • Drop off a treat or meal for someone who could use a boost.
  • Swap plants, books, or garden goodies.
  • Invite a neighbour for a walk or coffee.
  • Lend a hand with lawn care or small tasks.

Have a neighbour who makes kindness a habit? Nominate them for the Neighbourhood Kindness program. They deserve to be celebrated!

🙂 Smile corner 🙂

A neighbour shared how much they enjoy going for walks in the neighbourhood and saying good morning to all the neighbourhood dogs.

Share with us what makes you smile! Submit a photo and a caption by replying to this email, and we might feature it in the Smile Corner of our next newsletter!

Get inspired

There are plenty of ways to connect with neighbours, no matter the season or vibe!

In Lincoln Heights, neighbours celebrated Halloween in style with creative costumes, themed games, tasty drinks and plenty of candy. It was so much fun that many stayed to mingle and enjoy each other’s company even after the event ended!

Over in Erb West, a young neighbour hosted a relaxing spa day, complete with pampering, snacks and good conversation. All beauty products were packaged individually to keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Both these events were supported by neighbourhood funding! Explore the different funding opportunities we have!
