JOIN US THIS EASTER

It has been a year since the COVID-19 Pandemic forced our community to disperse. However, now that vaccines are available and vaccination rates are on the rise, we are excited to see more folks showing up for Sunday Services. Since many people are vaccinated, we are designating Vaccine Friendly seating for those who are comfortable sitting next to other vaccinated people. Everyone, whether vaccinated or not, will still need to wear a mask.

We hope that these preparations will give you peace of mind that it is safe to join us this Sunday to Celebrate Easter at our 10 am service. Whether you are vaccinated or not, you will be accommodated. In addition, you can attend an outdoor Easter Sunrise Service at 6 am. Scroll down this newsletter for details.

Moving forward, we will continue to practice CDC protocols such as mask wearing until we are sure that it is safe to dispense with them. Also, we are taking some preliminary steps to re-start our children’s programs and will have more information on that very soon.

SUNDAY LESSON
Making the Wrong Turn into the Right Road
April 4 | 10 AM
Join our public service* or watch online.
Join Reverend Steve Towles this Easter Sunday for a lesson on faith. Learn to live with the mystery of life and embrace its blessings, tragedies, and limitless possibilities.

You can watch the service on our live stream feed at 10 AM, April 4, or join us in person in our sanctuary. Read the full Sunday Message.
Our Easter Sunrise Service is back. So, get up early and join us for a special ceremony this Sunday. We will gather outside on our Unity Center grounds at 6 am to celebrate the Resurrection and witness the rising sun. There will be a bonfire to help keep you warm plus Dances of Universal Peace, Native Flute, and a time of sharing. This is a joyous way to mark this important day in the Christian Calendar. Dress warm and bring something to sit on. Percussion instruments are also welcome.
* Our public service has limited seating and requires that you adhere to our prescribed safety protocols. The City of Coeur d'Alene has a mask mandate in force. We require that anyone attending our service abide by the mandate.
After the service there is an Online Fellowship Gathering conducted through Zoom. This is a weekly check in to keep us connected during this time of social isolation. To join the discussion, click the link above. We would love to know how you are doing.

Community In-Reach

As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the consequences of social distancing, members of our community are dealing certain hardships. Consequently, our in-reach team is offering their assistance. If you or someone you know could use a little assistance, please fill out our contact form. If you are willing to serve as a volunteer for our in-reach team, please contact our team coordinator Sandy at 208-964-4084.

Environmental Challenge

Another contributor to our plastic waste problem is Dishwasher Detergents. Consequently, it is time to switch to safer alternatives like Dropps Dishwasher Detergent. Dropps pods use natural minerals and have a water-soluble casing. When you switch to Dropps you are helping turn the tide against toxic pollution, plastic waste, and animal cruelty. For more information, go to Dropps.com. Other environmental alternatives can be found at Pilgrims or anywhere natural products are sold.

Family Promise

Like many non-profits, Family Promise of North Idaho is struggling to keep needed funds flowing during the shutdown. Due to constraints brought on by the pandemic, they are unable to hold public fundraising events right now. Therefore, if you support their mission, please consider sending them a check or donating from their website FamilyPromiseNI.org. If you are contributing by mail, send your check to P.O. Spring Service Projects

Garden Clean-up
On Sunday, April 11th, Reverend Steve's Spirit Group is planning to work in our Community Garden to get it ready for planting. If you would like to help, bring a rake, shovel, or other weeding implement and plan to join in. This is a wonderful way to connect with the earth and each other. The project starts at 12 pm.

Spring Clean-up
We are also planning a work party for Saturday, April 17th to get our property spruced up for spring and summer activities. This project includes tree trimming, weeding, and grass clipping. This community gathering and work effort runs from 9 am to 1pm. Everyone is welcome.
Unity Food Pantry

Soon we will have a new food pantry that is stocked with nonperishable food for use by hungry folks in our area. If you would like to help us stock it up, set aside any excess non-expired non-perishable food you can spare, and we will let you know when to start bringing to the Center.
