Town Line Paint Recycles More than 26000 Pounds of Paint Over the Past Three Years
Town Line Wallpaper & Paint, Malden’s third generation, independently owned, full-service decorating center, is proud to announce that over the past three years it has recycled more than 26,000 pounds of paint through its relationship with Recolor Paints.

Over the past few years, Town Line Paint has been committed to finding environmentally
friendly solutions for its customers. After establishing a relationship with Recolor Paints in 2019, Town Line Paint has recycled more than 26,000 pounds of latex/water-based paints through Recolor Paint’s Retail Recycling Program.

“Most people don’t know that 8-10% of all paint purchased is not used. This can add up to
around 1 million gallons of unused paint annually,” stated Todd Zigelbaum, co-owner of Town Line Paint. “Instead of throwing away this paint to be dumped in a landfill or potentially polluting our waterways, we partnered with Recolor Paints to help do our part in keeping our community clean.”

The Retail Recycling Program collects unwanted paint from consumers at Town Line Paint. This paint is then transported to a Recolor Paint facility to be remanufactured into new recycled paint. Recycled paint not only helps solve the problem of wasted unused paint, but it also uses less water, carbon, and raw materials, making it a more environmentally friendly paint option. The Retail Recycling Program at Town Line Paint accepts latex, acrylic, and water-based paints for recycling. All paint must be in its original container with specifying type, intended application, and gloss level. It must also visually match the labeled content and cannot be older than 10 years.
