Actions to create change:

  • Choose a mental health organization to learn about or support
  • Help a friend struggling with their mental health by learning how to support them
  • Ask about how your school, workplace or community is creating change for mental health
  • Nurture your own well-being by practicing and learning mental health strategies
  • Get involved in a mental health initiative or organize an event to support mental health
  • Engage in conversations about mental health to fight stigma

Social media triggers children to dislike their own bodies, says study

Three out of four children as young as 12 dislike their bodies and are embarrassed by the way they look, increasing to eight in 10 young people aged 18 to 21. The findings come from a major new study warning that social media represents a significant risk to the current and future health of today's young generations.

Adhering to movement guidelines linked to better quality of life in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder

The Canadian 24-hour movement behavior guidelines suggest limited amount of screen use time, an adequate level of physical activity and sufficient sleep to ensure optimal health and quality of life of children and adolescents. A new survey explored how much children with autism spectrum disorder adhere to these guidelines and found that those who do have much better quality of life indicators.
