A note from your President
Happy Fall Y'all!
Wondering, how many of you have accessed our Membership directory lately? Did you know........
- You can search for members by profession? For example, if you type in the search field - accounting...you would find that we have 20 active members who indicate they have accounting expertise?
- If you wanted to find out who joined MWI the same year you did, you can type 2013 in that search field and find out that 11 women who are currently active joined that year?
- If you met someone at the membership lunch and all you can remember is her name is Deb, you can search the directory for Deb and find that we have 5 members whose name contains Deb?
Our marketing team, led by Stacey Seedorf and Lori O'Connor, have really done a fabulous job getting that directory up and running and functional - take a look! Click HERE to test it out! If you can't remember the log on or if you have suggestions on what else we can do to make this Directory even more powerful, please send me an email at

Your Name and Title:
Bobbie Kuehn, Library Supervisor
Name of Business: Brown County Library Denmark & East
Address of Businesses:
450 N. Wall Street, Denmark, WI 54208
2255 Main Street, Green Bay, WI 54302
The mission of the Brown County Library is to be a catalyst for community advancement. I work with my staff at two of our nine Brown County Library locations to make sure that we provide exceptional customer service and meet the following goals:
- Enhance success by improving school and reading readiness for young children, helping at-risk readers maintain or improve the reading ability they build in school by providing encouragement for summer reading, sparking interest in reading and learning for children of all ages, and giving parents and caregivers tools and techniques for helping children succeed through providing storytimes for babies through preschoolers.
- Offer cutting edge new programs that spark economic development such as Arduino which is a hands-on introduction to the basics of writing code, building small electronics using a credit-card sized, programmable microcontroller that can read sensors and turn on lights, run motors and more, based on the code you write.
- Support businesses and professionals by making meeting rooms and information resources such as Lynda.com and AtoZ databases, and research expertise available to them. We invest in members of our community by making library resources and services available to all including free computer use and Wi-Fi and resources for adults to improve computer skills needed in the workplace.
What can your business do for Management Women members?
The library acts as an informal community gathering place. We are the place other than home, or the school or workplace, where social interaction can thrive. Our libraries provide free, welcoming spaces where community members can relax and reflect, and where social groups and the community at-large can engage and interact. We provide many educational opportunities for youngsters to the young at heart. The Brown County Library fosters a positive perception of diversity by offering programming both for different cultures and about different cultures. In addition to the traditional library services our nine locations and bookmobile provide, the library also offers access to digital downloads of e-books and audiobooks free of charge and a platform of digital learning opportunities. With a library card you can use Lynda.com, Learning Express, AtoZ marketing and directory platform, language learning tools and more. Meeting rooms and/ or study rooms are available at most locations.
Please share two tips from your business that would interest Management Women members:
- We have Lynda! Learn what you want - when you want with Lynda.com - a LinkedIn Company. Learn business, creative, software and technology skills, and management techniques to achieve your personal and professional goals through online courses taught by industry leaders. Include proficiency gained on Lynda to demonstrate knowledge on your resume or to demonstrate educational goal attainment to your current employer.
- Use your library card for free access AtoZdatabases. This reference and marketing database includes 30 million business profiles and over 220 million residents. It's ideal for sales leads, mailing lists, market research, employment opportunities, finding friends and family and more! Go to browncountylibrary.org. Click on the Research and Reference tab, then on General Research and Reference to get started.
