Manager Minute

An Every-So-Often Update from The Town

Retirement Announcement!

After eight years of dedicated service, during which she has cared for our customers and her colleagues, Mariellen Meirsheimer is retiring from the Town. Her contributions have been invaluable and we are deeply appreciative.

We are hosting a relaxed and informal open house, providing you with the perfect opportunity to stop by, wish her well, thank her, or share a story or two.

The open house is scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Town Hall.

Access and Transparency

Each week, the Town Manager will host two 30-minute office hours for you to come and ask any questions, voice any concerns, or share your ideas to make the town an even better place to live, work, and do business. To accommodate as many participants as possible, there is a limit of one office visit per person per year, and no more than two people may attend a single meeting.

New Entry Sign

You may notice some minor construction work at the town's entrance. This entry sign is based on the concept drawing of the selected sign from the Town Plan, as approved by the Town Council.

One of our newest community partners: Habitat for Humanity

Assembled its first modular home on 9 Watson Street

This will be an owner-occupied home built on the lot donated to Habitat from the Town.

A new look for Town Square

The Onancock Tree Board designed a more interactive, colorful, and useful Town Square. You will see irrigation installed, along with the first four new streetlights, followed by new grass and then the new plantings when it is the best time to plant for their success.
