ICYMI: Introducing Superintendent Regional Engagement Cycles for Each Region
This month, Superintendent Susana Cordova kicked off a new regional engagement cycle across the district, with the goal of better understanding the assets, opportunities and needs of each region of our district. Moving in three-week rotations, these engagement cycles focus on one region of our city at a time and allow the opportunity for Susana and other DPS team members to be immersed in that community, to hear from teachers, leaders, students and families to best understand what’s working and what can be improved for their schools specifically.
Each cycle will include school visits, principal focus groups and faculty meetings, among other activities, culminating with a regional town hall at the end of the three weeks. The visits have kicked off in the Far Northeast, with the first Regional Town Hall set from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Evie Dennis Campus, 4800 Telluride St . Susana will later visit Southwest, then Northwest, Near Northeast, Southeast and Central – then repeating the cycle again in the second semester!
Principals will receive more information about these opportunities – including calendar invites and details about the faculty meetings and regional town halls – as their region’s cycle approaches.
