Remind Your Team to Complete Annual Mandatory Training Sessions
All DPS team members are required to complete these mandatory training sessions:

  • Annual Mandatory Reporter Training: All DPS team members should have received an email on Aug. 9 with instructions on how to access and complete training. The deadline to complete this training is Sept. 30. This is the only required training on mandatory reporting, and must be completed by all DPS employees. If you have questions about mandatory reporting training, email Kristin Bailey

  • Student Data Privacy Training: Watch the Student Data Privacy training video and complete the included quiz and acknowledgements by Oct. 31 if you did not complete this training during the 2018-19 school year. If you completed Student Data Privacy training in the 2018-19 school year, you do not need to complete it again. Unsure if you completed the training? Confirm completion by checking for “Passed” status in your Infor training record. For more information, FAQs and issues with accessing the video, visit the Academic Technology Menu (ATM).

Ensure New Team Members Complete New Employee Orientation
Welcoming your new team members just got easier! DPS transformed our New Employee Orientation (NEO) to be more responsive to the needs of our varied employee groups. We automatically enroll new employees in a series of interactive videos within Learning Space so they can access specific information -- relevant to their role -- when and where they need it.  

Here’s how you can help:
  • Ask your new team members check their dpsk12.org email address for an email from “DPS Learning Space” to get started.

  • Ensure they complete all required videos (10 for non-instructional staff; 11 for DCTA). It takes about four hours to complete all videos.

Review Food Policy Changes
As we shared in May , the DPS Board of Education has made significant changes to our food purchasing policy. In an effort to make better use of DPS dollars, we have changed the policy to make it easier to understand -- and most importantly, to prioritize our focus on Students First. 

Please review the new policy and note that purchases relating to the following are no longer authorized:
  • Professional development, training sessions, staff meetings and retreats.
  • Celebrations and retirements.

Note New Regional Network Locations
As part of the recent reorganization, DPS has shifted to a regional school support structure beginning in the 2019-20 school year.
 
The office locations for Regional Schools Teams are:
  • Central: Contemporary Learning Academy
  • Far Northeast: Montbello Career & Technical High School
  • Near Northeast: Palmer Elementary School
  • Northwest: Trevista Horace Mann
  • Southeast: McKinley-Thatcher Elementary School
  • Southwest: John F. Kennedy High School

Guidance regarding meetings with regional teams and visits to school-based locations will be shared soon.
