Thank you to our central office team members who are putting Students First by spending their time and using their talents in our school buildings. We understand that managers are likely receiving questions from their team members and we wanted to provide some clarification and resources
to help answer those questions. Please share this information with your teams.
Central office team members who completed a form with their availability received an email last week with the list of school assignments
. Please note that this list does not include all central office team members. Our first priority has been supporting elementary schools' needs. We have factored in accommodations, critical infrastructure positions, long-term support assignments, and preferences on region, day and school. We have sent another survey to central office employees without on-call elementary assignments to capture preferences so we can staff newcomer and special-education centers at the secondary level.
Team members are not expected to be in a school building on their assigned day or any other day unless the school leader asks for assistance. (Please note, only students who attend programming (school, before/after school care, other DPS-approved programs) in a particular school or building are allowed in that building. DPS staff may not bring their child to work with them if that child does not attend programming in that building.)
Personal Protective Equipment
N95 masks will be available for central office team members at each school. One mask can be worn for five days (up to five weeks if supporting in schools one day a week). Face shields will also be available.
- Ask your team to communicate with you about which schools they will be supporting for which days and hours.
- Please adjust expectations for your team when they are called to support a school.
- Encourage your team to use an "out of office" message in their email and offer an alternative contact for when they will be supporting schools.
- Continue to approve time for your team in True Pay.
Health and Safety Protocols Training
All team members who will be supporting in schools must complete a training to understand the health and safety protocols for being in-person with students. If you or any members of your team have not yet completed the training, please access it here.
Please share with your team that there have been a couple of updates to the training materials
based on our latest health guardrails (there is no need to retake the training):
- Updated student screening processes, found on slides 21-24.
- Revised school visitor guidance with allowance for parents and guardians who complete a health screen to enter the school office.
LIFT Goal Setting
Given the changes in expectations for central office team members, the timeline to set LIFT goals in Infor HR has been extended to Nov. 6. Visit The Commons
for goal-setting resources.
Leaves of Absence/COVID-19 Accommodations
Consideration was made in assignments for any team member with an approved medical accommodation or leave of absence. Those team members not assigned as in-person supports will receive more information soon about supporting schools virtually.
