Managing Heat and Sun Risks at Work

As summer temperatures rise, MSA encourages members to include sun safety in outdoor work planning.

UV exposure and heat can lead to sunburn, heat stress, eye damage, and long-term health risks such as skin cancer. Simple controls such as protective clothing, sunscreen, hydration, shade breaks, and scheduling heavier work during cooler hours can help reduce risk.

Members can also access Environmental - Safe Work Practices on the MSA website, which include guidance on working in heat and summer conditions, along with additional sun safety resources and training from WorkSafe Saskatchewan and Sun Smart Saskatchewan, including a free Safe Crews Work Sun Smart course.

Workplace Ergonomics is on SkillsPass

Workplace Ergonomics training has moved to the SkillsPass platform. If you have previously started this course and would like to complete it on the current platform, please finish all course requirements by day end, July 27, 2026.

This transition will provide a more streamlined learning experience, making it easier to access training, track progress, and complete course requirements. We encourage all participants with in-progress training to complete the course before the transition date.

Recognizing Courage in Action

We would like to recognize and thank Matt and Mike Mario from Regina Auto Body for their courage and selfless actions in helping rescue a woman and her dog from a submerged vehicle near Craven.

Their willingness to step in during a critical moment reflects the compassion, courage, and commitment to helping others that make our communities stronger. We are proud to have them as MSA members.
