Preparing for Expected Snow Storm


With the major snow event expected Tuesday-Thursday, Mandan Public Works Department crews will run 24 hours to keep emergency routes open. Learn more about snow removal procedures at this link. Emergency response officials are also taking precautions.

 

Public Works will continue to monitor weather and street conditions. Avoid on-street parking as possible to allow for efficient and effective snow removal. Please pay attention to road conditions and travel advisories before traveling.

FREE Small Business Advice 'Lunch & Learn'


A free “lunch and learn” information session featuring advice from the BAIL team will be held April 26 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Harvest Events, 308 W Main St. BAIL stands for banker, accountant, insurance agent and lawyer, all valuable sources of guidance for starting, managing and transitioning businesses.

Ideas Welcomed for $3M Regional Workforce Grant


The N.D. Department of Commerce announced on March 23 a Regional Workforce Impact Program. The 10-county region that includes Morton County is eligible to receive up to $3,020,000 with a 25% match. Options include workforce training, childcare, talent attraction and affordable housing projects.


The Commerce Department is seeking an inclusive application from the region that services urban and rural needs. It can include multiple programs or projects. The Lewis and Clark Development Group is convening a meeting April 13 to discuss our region’s application. The deadline to apply is July 30. Funds must be spent by June 2023. Projects or programs needs to be one-time or have other funding thereafter. If you have ideas, please contact us.

Ways to Become Involved

  1. Invite employees to form a team to cover a route. Sign up here.
  2. Clean up around your own business site or district.
  3. Publicize a discount to volunteers wearing clean-up shirts who stop by your business later that day.
  4. Award a door prize to those who volunteer by contacting helper Amy Schmidt.

The Mandan Police Department’s Brave the Shave event is Saturday, May 14, noon to 5 p.m., at Midway Lanes. Businesses are invited to become involved:

  • Silent auction. Consider donating an item.
  •  Bowling team. Enter the four-person tournament. Entry fees are $120 per team.
