Support Entrepreneurism at March 23 Challenge
Cheer on new and aspiring entrepreneurs at the 4th Annual Mandan Business Pitch Challenge on March 23 at the Baymont Inn, 2611 Old Red Trail. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for a people’s choice award recipient.

Doors open at 5 p.m., presentations begin at 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Register by March 18 online or by calling 701-667-3478.

A selection committee chose the following four finalists:
  • Bubbles and Brews ND by Cassidy Hartman and Krysten Faehnrich — a mobile beverage service;
  • Cornhole Cave by Brad Anderson, Jed Geer and David Koch — a recreational venue;
  • Saffpower by Randy Lang — hand sanitizing lotion; and
  • The Sew Connection by Bianca Deloreschild — a space for custom sewing, sales and classes.

Opt In to Accept Digital Mandan Bucks
The Mandan Progress Organization is introducing a Mandan Bucks e-gift card program. Consumers can purchase the cards online and email, text or print them for use in participating businesses.

To accept electronic Mandan Bucks, you need to be able to process a key-entry (like a phone order) Mastercard. You will be paid through your credit card bank in your normal settlement, with your normal Mastercard CNP processing fee.

The cards only work at participating Mandan merchants, i.e., those who opt-in. Please sign up by March 20 to be featured in an April 1 launch.
2022 Visitor Brochure Available
Mark your calendars for festivals and other exciting activities planned for 2022 including Touch-A-Truck on May 21; Buggies-n-Blues on June 11-12; and Mandan Rodeo Days July 1-4 complete with Art in the Park and the Independence Day 5K Run & Parade.

N.D. Trade Office 'Road Show' in Central Region on March 21-25
Staff members of the N.D. Trade Office will be in the area March 21-25. They are seeking to meet with local businesses interested in expanding globally. Services include export assistance and trade missions. To arrange a meeting, please call 701-929-6710 or send an email.
Letters of Interest Invited for Growth Fund Committee Vacancy
Owners and employees of Mandan businesses are encouraged to apply for an appointment to the Mandan Growth Fund Committee for a position with an unexpired term ending Dec. 31, 2023. Please email a letter summarizing your background and reasons for interest in serving by March 31.

The committee makes recommendations to the City Commission related to applications for assistance to businesses seeking to expand or locate in Mandan. The committee meets about once a month or as needed depending upon applications for incentive or assistance programs.
Plans for New High School Take Shape
Mandan School Board members received an update on plans for the new Mandan High School at their Feb. 22 meeting. Representatives of ICON Architectural Group showed renderings that assume a full budget including alternate components. Plans may change depending upon bids and other circumstances. Watch the presentation to the board. Concept drawings are also in a video at this link. The high school is expected to open August 2024.
