Dear Supporter,
I hope you and yours remain safe as COVID-19 continues to impact our lives in profound ways. If you follow Manna on social media, you know that the Manna team is stepping up in service, modifying our distribution in real-time to ensure we are serving our neighbors safely and working with partners to meet the ever changing needs of our community.

I wanted to share some updates & thank you for your generous support that has made this rapid response possible!
Feeding Kids with MCPS

Manna is continuing to leverage our Smart Sacks weekend bag program to support families when MCPS meal sites are not operating (usually Saturdays and Sundays).

Today, we provided 4,900 bags of food that were loaded onto MCPS school buses and transported to nine distribution sites throughout the County. New sites are constantly being added to address gaps in service.
Community Voices
134 Households Helped to Stay Put
As we continue to assemble "Stay Put Packs" for our regular distribution locations, Manna has looked for creative ways to reach our older neighbors, those with health concerns, and families with transportation challenges. Home deliveries , facilitated through Manna's Community Food Rescue program, are allowing volunteers to leave custom "Stay Put Packs" at the doors of our most vulnerable neighbors. 134 deliveries have been completed to date , with an increasing number of appointments being scheduled for the coming weeks. Event Update
Due to the current social distancing requirements, our Heroes Against Hunger Awards Reception (originally scheduled to take place on April 30th) has been postponed until further notice . We will communicate the new time and date when those details become available. If you already purchased tickets for the event, your tickets will still be valid for the event's new date and time. If you cannot attend on the new date, we will gladly issue you a refund.
