Continued overnight demolition of the Broadway Bridge will require the closure of the on-ramps from Route 6 East and Memorial Boulevard to I-95 South, Sunday-Tuesday nights from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Please follow signed detours. As part of the demolition, motorists can also anticipate lane closures within the project area on I-95 South, Sunday-Thursday nights, and on I-95 North, Wednesday and Thursday nights, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Bridge Group 32, Cranston/Providence
|
Daytime patching and concrete demolition for bridge joint repairs at the Huntington North and South bridges are scheduled next week at this project. This work will involve alternating lane closures on both directions of I-95 just before and after the Route 10 overpass. Pile driving is also planned for the new west abutment at the Elmwood Avenue Bridge.

Henderson Bridge, East Providence/Providence
|
Next week at this project, we are scheduled to continue drainage work and curbing removal along Waterfront Drive and backfilling for the new roadway connecting Waterfront Drive to Massasoit Avenue. We also anticipate prepping for steel girder removal on the existing bridge spans over the water, and temporarily relocating communications conduit at the bridge’s west abutment.

I-95 North Viaduct, Providence

Overnight demolition of the old southbound bridge will be the focus next week at this project. It will involve alternating lane closures on both sides of I-95, as well as the closures of Exit 22 off I-95 North, the ramp from Memorial Boulevard west to I-95 South, Promenade Street, from Park Street to Holden Street, and Providence Place, from Harris Avenue to Promenade Street. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

Kingston Road Bridge, Richmond

The existing traffic patterns for this project remain along I-95 and Route 138. Daytime operations for next week will include guardrail, sign foundation, concrete sidewalk, drainage and precast median barrier installations, and minor landscaping.

Mohegan Bridge, Burrillville
|
The bridge remains closed to northbound traffic. Next week, we are scheduled to continue daytime removal of sections of the backwalls and beam seats and structural concrete repairs.

Park Avenue Railroad Bridge, Cranston
|
Next week, we will continue to demolish the existing steel floor beams from the bridge.

Pell Bridge Ramps Phase 2, Newport
|
Next week at this project, crews will be working in the roundabout as well as JT Connell Highway south of the roundabout towards the existing dog park. This work will require temporary lane shifts as we work inside the existing curb line near U-Haul. We will also remove and dispose of the existing curb, sidewalks, asphalt roadway, and loam areas. Police details and flaggers will be on hand to help manage local traffic. Access to local businesses will be maintained during construction.
Following the completion of the railroad removal work, we will begin clearing and grubbing down along the cemetery for the next few weeks. Police details will be staged at the Route 138 Downtown off-ramp to assist construction vehicles with access.

Route 5 Reconstruction, Cranston/Warwick
|
During weekday operations along Route 5 next week, we plan to continue drainage and traffic signal work as well as riprap removal at the center pier of the Pontiac Bridge.

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence
|
Next week, we plan to continue casting barrier on the Route 10 North to Route 6 West flyover bridge, installing steel reinforcement on the deck of the Westminster Street Bridge, building retaining walls at the Broadway Bridge off ramp and Tobey Street Bridge, and installing the storm drain system along the Route 10 median. This will involve daytime lane closures in the project area.
