Shop #DisabilityOwned

In recent years, the conversation around the employment of people with disabilities has gained significant momentum! According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals with disabilities face an unemployment rate nearly double that of their non-disabled counterparts. Despite this challenge, Disability-Owned Business Enterprises (DOBEs) are leading the way in creating opportunities and promoting inclusivity within the workforce.

DOBEs are businesses that are at least 51% owned, controlled, operated, and managed by individuals with disabilities. These enterprises not only provide gainful employment for their owners but also create additional jobs for people with disabilities, fostering an inclusive work environment. Research shows that companies that embrace diverse workforces, including those with disabilities, benefit from increased innovation and productivity, as well as improved employee morale.

In addition to the economic benefits, shopping from DOBEs fosters a culture of acceptance and understanding! It sends a powerful message that people with disabilities are valued contributors to society. The holiday season is a perfect time to reflect this value through our purchasing choices!
