Main Stay Farm - Many Hearts, One Farm

The purpose of Many Hearts, One Farm is to educate and inspire our team, clients and the communities that we serve. The Many Hearts, One Farm logo reminds us that no one heart is better or more important than the other because we need each one in order to make different but beautiful colors. Just like every paint color on a palette, everyone who walks through the doors of Main Stay plays an equally important part in our mission.

LGBTQ+ Pride Month

Each year, Pride Month begins on June 1st and is a month-long celebration of the LGBTQ+ community! This month was established in commemoration of the Stonewall Uprising in New York in June 1969, a series of protests against discrimination. It honors the progress made towards LGBTQ+ rights as well as bringing awareness to areas where we can strive to be more inclusive. Many cities celebrate with parades and festivals including Woodstock, Illinois! You can see all the festivities and ways to get involved through the link below.

If you check it out, make sure to stop by the Main Stay table to say hello and pick up a Many Hearts, One Farm sticker!

Juneteenth

Juneteenth National Independence Day is a federal holiday and often viewed as a second independence day. Although the Emancipation Proclamation officially ended slavery in 1863, it took a long time for freedom to reach every enslaved person. That day finally came on June 19, 1865, after 250,000 people were freed in the state of Texas when the Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. This day was named Juneteenth.

Today, Juneteenth is a day of remembrance and hope. It is a day to promote inclusivity and the end of racial discrimination. You can read more about Juneteenth, its history, and how to celebrate at Juneteenth.com
