We are in the midst of unprecedented times but our commitment to making important infrastructure improvements in the City of Birmingham remains strong, and that includes addressing the aging infrastructure along Maple Road. The City has finalized an agreement with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and is working to establish a Maple Road Reconstruction Project start date. The project will reconstruct Maple Road from Southfield to Woodward and is anticipated to begin in early May and last approximately four months.

As with Old Woodward, the project will incorporate new underground infrastructure and improve walkability. Other features include improved landscaping and on-street parking, new streetlights, electrical and irrigation systems, granite bench seating, cell phone charging stations and updated traffic signals along the corridor.

We will keep you updated weekly, and please don’t hesitate to communicate with us. If you know someone who might be interested in receiving these emails, please forward the sign-up information to them: www.bit.ly/bhamnews
