A sweet sendoff to a successful season
2026 was a great maple season for us here at Land's Sake Farm. We started tapping in mid-February, though the sap didn't start to run in earnest until the later portion of the month. It was a fast but productive season, running from mid-February to mid-March.
Overall we produced just shy of 60 gallons of finished syrup, nearly a tie for our second most productive maple year on record. We implemented some changes to our syrup filtration protocols in the sugar shack which made tangible improvements in the quality of the syrup this season. Much of the syrup retained its lighter amber hue and bottled up beautifully.
We had a beautiful, though somewhat chilly, Sugaring Off event last Saturday to mark the end of the maple season, an annual Land's Sake tradition. Thank you to everyone who joined us! Now it's time for our farm crew to clean up the shack and close up shop for the season. With warming weather and dry(ish) fields, it's time to start prepping ground for the growing season!
