As you know, the Northeast Telehealth Resource Center (NETRC) is one of twelve regional resource centers funded by the federal ORHP's (Office of Rural Health Policy) Office for Advancement of Telehealth to provide technical assistance and resources to organizations and individuals throughout the U.S., working to implement and/or expand telehealth programs. With team members based in Maine and Vermont, we serve eight states, including all of New England, New York, and part of New Jersey.

In order to better understand and connect health related services being provided in our region through telehealth, the NETRC is launching a new tool on our website, called "Find Telehealth Providers". We are now collecting demographic and health service information from providers and organizations currently utilizing telehealth/telemedicine to improve patient care and outcomes through increased access and decreased costs. Using GIS mapping, these sites will be pin-pointed on the "Find Telehealth Providers" map. Developed by our colleagues with the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center and GeoHealth Innovations, "Find Telehealth Providers" currently tracks over 350 organizations and providers using telehealth in DE, KY, MD, NC, NJ, PA, VA, WV, and Washington D.C.

Some benefits of adding your program to "Find Telehealth Providers" include:

 

  • Promotion of your program among regional and national stakeholders interested in receiving telehealth services and/or identifying opportunities to collaborate on telehealth research.
     

  • Help with locating potential providers or programs that could fill a specific care gap identified in your organization or region.
     

  • Access to aggregate data regarding gaps, opportunities and trends pertaining to telehealth utilization, and how healthcare outcomes may be impacted over time (Moving forward, we plan to overlay additional data points such as: ORHP Rural Areas, Medicare Reimbursement Eligibility, and USAC funding eligibility).
