Krishna Komanduri, MD, an international leader in the fields of hematology-oncology, transplantation, and cellular immunotherapy, will become the new chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology based at UCSF Health as of July 1. He will also assume two newly created roles: physician-in-chief of the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and clinical director of the UCSF Living Therapeutics Initiative. [read more]

Arun Wiita, MD, PhD received an Emerson Collective Cancer Research Award for a project, “Search & DESTOI: a strategy to degrade intracellular oncoproteins.”

Jacob Young, MD will receive the National Brain Tumor Society Award at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

Luke Gilbert, PhD; Felix Feng, MD; Kevan Shokat, PhD; and Michelle Arkin, PhD received a 2021 PCF Team Challenge Award for a project, “Targeting the PTGES3-AR Axis in Advanced Prostate Cancer.”

Franklin Huang, MD, PhD (UCSF), Elisabeth Heath, MD (Wayne State University), and Clayton Yates, PhD (Tuskegee University) received a 2021 PCF Team Challenge Award for a project, “MET-PAAM: Elucidating the Molecular Mechanisms of Tumor Progression in Metastatic Prostate Cancer Among Men of African Ancestry.”
