Welcome to March and Spring Equinox.
It sure was acting like Spring here the last two weeks until yesterday when it finally decided to be winter . I had to go to Flagstaff and was caught totally by surprise in a snow storm. Several cars in the ditch and the police to help them out. I also saw four snow plows, two going up and two down. I am grateful that they are so well equipped.
Along with Spring Equinox, March has several days and events to celebrate. I selected a few. We will begin with the most well known, St Patrick's Day. In New York it is a big event due to it's history and the Irish community. It has parades and celebrations and a variety of fun but in Arizona I just look forward to a good corned beef meal. Ash Wednesday is next special day with the beginning of Lent starting Mar. 5th. Another very important day, International Women's Day on Saturday March 8th. I don't know if we are celebrating it with an event here in the Verde, but now that I am aware, I am going to put that on my calendar for next year so that we might acknowledge it in some way. The last I will mention is Daylight savings. Not a big deal to us in Arizona or Hawaii but everywhere else is a week or so before adjusting to the time change. I am so glad I don't have to do that anymore.
At Knit Wits, we have received restock on Malabrigo Rios, and Silky wool. We increased our Emma Ball bags by adding a bucket style project bag, two lengths in a zippered case and more small tool fabric containers. All are fully lined and have a quality finish. the best part is they are very affordable, priced between $7.00 and 19.00 dollars. In addition to the yarn and bags, I restocked my needle inventory and have added two Lykke interchangeable sets.
Alyson has recently made two beautiful trendy and easy neck scarves, the Close to You pattern by Letes' Knit. They can be made any size with your choice of yarn type. I have completed the back and one front on the Havaendring Cardigan by Woolfolk. I really like how the color work is knitting out.
I also started the Oasis, by Yumiko Alexander using our new Eco Twist from our last months newsletter. She is one of my favorite designers and you have seen me wear several of her patterns
It seems like it should be a busy month with all that March holds. I hope you are doing well and fibering wherever you are.
