Monthly Meetings

Cloverbuds

Cloverbuds will meet on June 13th at the Paola Office from 5:30-6:30pm. Cloverbuds must be 5-6 years old by Jan. 1, 2019

Jr. Leaders

Miami County Jr Leader Meeting will be June 10th at 7pm at the Paola Office.

Linn County Jr Leader Meeting will be June 16th at 4pm at the Linn County 4-H Building

4-H Council

Miami County 4-H Council will be July 8th at 8pm at the Paola Office

Linn County 4-H Council will be July 17th at 7pm at the Linn County 4-H Building.

LQA/PQA is now YQCA

Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) will be required for all youth showing Beef, Goats, Sheep and Swine at the county fair in BOTH Linn and Miami Counties. This Program will be offered in a face-to-face class, as well as an on-line option. If completed online email a copy of your certificate to the office.

All certifications must be completed by June 15th.

This is now required to show in KSF and/or KJLS. This applies to market animal exhibitors, commercial breeding animals, and registered purebred breeding animals.

Tagging for KSF/KJLS

The last tagging date for Kansas State Fair and Kansas Junior Livestock Show is June 12th, 6-7:30pm at the Miami County Fairgrounds. This tagging is for KSF/KJLS animals only!

East Central District Horse Show

The 2019 East Central District Horse Show will be held July 9th in Lawrence, Kansas. The District Horse Show is a qualifier for the Kansas State Fair Horse Show. Exhibitors must receive a purple or blue at districts to qualify for the KSF 4-H Horse Show. Entry information will be sent via email to all horse project members.

Fantastic 4-H Camp

Camp Counselor Training

All Fantastic 4-H Camp Counselors need to attend training on June 11th at 6:30-8:30pm at Johnson County Extension. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm.

Information regarding camp has been emailed to those attending. Please contact the office if you have not received this.

4-H Day Camp

July 2, 2019

Miami County Fair

Concession Stand Training

July 9th at 8pm will be the Miami County Fair Food Stand Training. Please make sure that every club has a representative to learn about the food stand and any new or improved items for this year. The Training will last about 30 minutes.

Fashion Revue

Fashion Revue Judging will be Monday, July 15, 2019. Clothing project member can pre-enter and model their constructed and/or purchased outfits in front of a judge on this day. More information about the judging day, Public Revue and pre-entry information will be emailed to Clothing Project members the middle of June. Pre-entries will be due July 5th.

Fashion Revue Orientation

We will be holding a Fashion Revue Orientation at the Paola Office on July 11th at 7pm. The Orientation will include an overview of the judging day, demonstration on how to model, modeling practice, and a Q & A session.

Goat Show moved

The goat show has been moved to Tuesday night following the sheep show.

Horse Show Change

The 4-H/FFA Horse show has been moved to Sunday, July 14th at 9am

Miami County Fair Pageant/ Royalty

If you are interested in the Miami County Fair Pageant and Royalty you can the guidelines and registration at http://www.miamicountykansasfair.com./fair-royalty.php . Queen ages are 13-21. Princess 8-12. Sweetheart 7 & under. 4-H membership is not required.

Items Available at the Paola Office

New Food Preservation Labels, Entomology pins and vials, Photo mat boards and bags. You will have to make your own clothing labels.

Linn County

Favorite Foods Show will be Sunday June 2nd at 2pm at the 4-H Building.

Linn County Fashion Revue and Performing Arts Show will be July 27th at First Baptist Church Mound City. There will be a Committee meeting at 4-H Council on May 22nd anyone is welcome to attend.
