Monthly Meetings
Cloverbuds

Cloverbuds will meet on November 14th at the Paola Office from 5:30-6:30pm. Cloverbuds must be 5-6 years old by Jan. 1, 2020

4-H Council

4-H Enrollment

The new 4-H year has started!!!! Make sure you get on 4-H Online to get re-enrolled. The deadline for returning 4-H'ers is January 2, 2020. New member and project add/drop deadline is May 1st.

Photography Workshop

Interested in learning more about photography come to our Workshop taught by a 4-H Alumni Allison Wakefield. She will cover what judges are looking for at the fair and photography terms. Then some photo stations where you can practice what you have learned. Will be held on January 3, 2020 at 1:00pm.

Marais des Cygnes District Shooting Sports
Basic Firearm Classes will be November 7, 12, & 14th. You must attend 2 of the 3. Click on Schedule, for more information and the practice schedule.

Miami County Dog Club Special Meeting
Miami County 4-H Dog Club will be meeting on November 19th at 7pm at the Paola Office. We will be discussing re-organization of the Dog Club and planning for the year. All 4-H'ers interested in the Dog project are welcome to attend.

4-H ROBOTICS WORKSHOP SAVE THE DATE
January 20th - 4-H Robotics Workshop at LaCygne Library starting at 11am. Lunch will be provided. More information will be coming.
Homemade Christmas
We are going to be hosting a Homemade Christmas event to give any youth ages 5-18 the opportunity to make some crafts. This event will be on December 7th at the Paola Extension Office. Cost is $10. Click on your session time to sign up in the link below.

Linn County
Achievement Night
Achievement Night will be November 20th at 7:00pm following 4-H Council.

4-H Council
We will be having the elections of officers and any youth can be up for election. We will going over enrollment for the 4-H year as well as Financial Reviews, Officer Training and starting the new year.

Clothing Drive
Junior Leaders will be having their annual clothing drive November 3rd at the Linn County 4-H Building. If you would like to make a clothing donation please contact the Mound City Office.
Entomology Project Meeting
The next Entomology project meeting will be at the Chanute High School on Saturday November 16th at 2:00 p.m. Come to the back of the school to the door with the porch over the entrance there will be a sign. Make sure to bring your pinning board, insect pins, and an insect to pin if you have one. Boards will be available for new members. A packet of insect pins is $6.50. Record Book Changes
Marais des Cygnes District is going to be a pilot for the new 4-H Project Report Form. This is for Junior and Intermediates ONLY!! Seniors will be using the same KAP as in the past. In addition to the 4-H Project Report Form 4-H'ers will be required to do a permanent record.

Trainings will be held throughout the year with the first one hopefully in December. The 4-H Project Report Form should be available in December.

Club Financial Reviews
Club Financial Reviews are due by November 1, 2019. Forms are available on https://www.maraisdescygnes.k-state.edu/4-h/club-leader-resources/index.html . All clubs including Project Clubs that have a bank account must fill out a form to continue being a chartered club according to Kansas 4-H Policies.

Officer Training Date
The District-wide Officer Training will be November 10 at 2:00-3:30pm at Linn County Fairgrounds. The program will include making club meeting fun, duties of your office, and other activities. Please click to RSVP.

Club Leader Training NEW DATE!
The Club Leader Training has been rescheduled for November 14th at 7pm via zoom or in person at the Paola Office (Upstairs). The November 26th Date has been cancelled.

Project Club Leader Training
All project Club Leaders are invited to attend a Project Club Leader Training on November 13th from 6-7pm at the Paola Office. We will be discussing what makes a 4-H Project Club, how to encourage participation at Project Clubs, and how to be a project club leader. We will also be sharing information between project club leaders.
