“His delight is in the law of the Lord” (Psalm 1:2).
The man who delights in the law of the Lord is a godly man. He is a happy man!
There are some things he will not do: 1) He will not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. 2) He will not seek their advice. 3) He will not keep company with the godless. 4) He will not walk the road that sinners tread. 5) He will not take his seat among the scornful.
There are some things he will deliberately choose to do: 1) He will meditate upon the Word night and day. 2) He will be like a tree, drinking deeply of the river’s water, even that “Living Water”! 3) He will bear the Spirit’s fruit in season. 4) His leaf will remain freshly green, giving witness to other persons who may rest in the shade of his daily Christian walk. 5) All that he is determined to do for God will prosper abundantly!
Thus, in doing all to the glory of God, he will lift all of life up into the clearer light of heaven’s grace and judgment!
Our Father, grant us the conscious willingness to walk by faith! Amen.
