The most expensive thing in all the world is sin — pardoned or unpardoned. Judah, because of its transgression, lost the blessing of the Lord and also his presence. Someone has said, “No one plays the game of sin and wins.” Our Lord said, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life” (Romans 6:23).
It’s interesting to note in our Scripture today that even with the dark picture of Judah’s sin, there is a great testimony of a righteous man. It is so today. In the midst of all the immorality and wickedness of our day, there are many of God’s people who walk and talk daily with him. They are truly light in a darkened world. Thank God for his redeemed people!
Lord, help me today to be a testimony of your righteousness living in me.
