How Strong Is Your Faith?
June 5, 2015

Our reading today talks about our faith and gives us one of the best examples in the Bible to look at. First, Abraham believes and trusts God. He does not want his son to marry a non-believer because it was wrong. He is also letting God choose the woman his son will marry. Abraham knew that God had a plan, and he wanted to be sure he was following that plan.

He had already shown his faith in God. He gave up everything to follow God to where he didn't know; he obeyed God to sacrifice his son - even though he didn't understand, he obeyed.

I believe that many of our problems of today are a result of our not trusting God when we should. God has made no promises to us to explain everything to us; his command is that we obey. Then we try and hold back because we want to know "why" or "how" or "where are we going." We want to know the results before we start.

Abraham knew that God would do what he said he would do. His trust in God was complete. We need to be like that. We need to believe that God will do what he says he will do. Abraham knew God would provide the perfect wife; we need to believe that God will provide the perfect life for us, according to his plan - if we will let him.

Have you placed your trust in God 100%? If not, now is the time to do it.
