Abraham breathed his last and died in a ripe old age, an old man and satisfied with life; and he was gathered to his people (NASB).
Abraham had lived a life filled with ups and down but always in God's grace. At this point he had lost the love of his life, Sarah, but God blessed him once again with a woman to love. At the end of his life the Bible tells us that he reached a ripe old age and was satisfied with life.
As we live our lives and it's up and downs, can we say as it was of Abraham that we had lived a satisfied life? Have we been faithful in honoring God in all we do; did we pray faithfully daily; are we into his Word daily; can people see how we honor God in our daily life; are we faithful in church attendance and loving to those who are sometimes unlovable?
Dear Jesus, may it be said of us as it was of Abraham that we are satisfied with life and your blessing in our lives.
