In this passage we have God making a covenant with Noah. God has made many covenants with men, which are called promises. We make covenant/promises today before God with our marriage vows. How seriously do we take those vows?
In the past marriage vows were a holy act of commitment. Today our ideas have changed from long range commitment to only as long as it feels good. God instituted vows as a permanent commitment of himself to us and us to him. Today, how serious do you take your promises to him, to others and to your spouse?
Father God, we are surrounded by the "me first" generation. I ask for eyes to see you, ears to hear you, and the willingness to obey you. I ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, amen.
