Reaching the End of our Rope
Monday, August 8, 2016

Job reaches the point that everyone must reach, humbling ourselves before God and confessing that we are sinners so that we can be "born again." We must make use of God's gift of ears by listening so that we will not only hear his questions but be able to honestly answer them. Many times the answers will not be ones we want to acknowledge, but these are ones we must confess to God and to others when it is needed.

We must also be humbled by whatever sin we have confessed and repent in a way that lets God know we are sorry for the sin and that those around us see we have changed. We are reborn by Christ's death on the cross and by the help of the Holy Spirit lead a new life to the glory of God.

We may not be rewarded with great wealth and a large family as Job was, but we'll have the greatest gift of all - eternal life with Christ.

Dear Father God, help me to see my sins, confess them and then live for Christ.
