When God Says No

Job 6:1-13
There is no doubt that Job felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. Out of all his family and possessions, it was just he and his wife left. All that they had were their memories.

Job finally got the chance to speak after Eliphaz had finished. He had one request for God to grant and that was that he would crush him and cut him off. He wanted relief from his pain and suffering. God's answer to his request? No.

I am glad that God said no to Job. It took awhile, but things did eventually turn around for Job. It is a reminder to me that as hard as things may seem right now, because of God's promise of his eternal kingdom coming one day, things will turn around.

God, thank you for saying no to me when sometimes saying yes would be easier. Amen.
